The Community Sharing Project is a caring local volunteer group committed to serving families and individuals in need living primarily in the Vermont towns of Dorset, Danby, Pawlet, Rupert and Wells.
The Church building serves as a meeting place for several community groups, including Alcoholics Anonymous, the Parkinson’s Support Group, PFLAG and a Senior Exercise Group.
Our Green Team is active in environmental issues, applying their knowledge to secure grants for energy efficient appliances and weather proofing.
The Kids’ Summer Lunch Program, organized by the Dorset Church and the Northshire Interfaith Community, provides free meals to kids in need during the summer months.
The United Church of Dorset & East Dorset offers spiritually integrated mental health and pastoral care counseling to individuals, couples, and families via its affiliation with Jackson Peak Counseling.
Our Senior minister (Rev. Dr. McDonough) and pastoral assistant (Reverend Skip Dickinson) lead worship and serve communion monthly at the area’s senior living facilities, Equinox Terrace and Equinox Village.
The Church sponsors several special sales events for SERRV International, which fights global poverty through fair and ethical trade.
The Dorset Church Rummage Sales are two of the biggest events of the year at the Dorset Church. They are held in the spring and fall.
Truth & Justice Vermont was formed in response to current events in support of true democracy, the rule of law and freedom of religion.
