Our mission is based on the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:14:
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.“
Christian Education oversees, plans, implements, and evaluates Christian education for all ages, from birth through death. We are guided by the Greatest Commandment and the Great Commission and our Church’s Mission Statement.
When we baptize a baby in our church, we are making a commitment to teach and share the love of Christ with that child and to support the parents and family in helping that child grow in faith. This includes learning about their faith so that, when ready, they may publicly confirm it through the Confirmation process. We strive to provide resources through worship, educational opportunities, and service for all, so that we may grow closer to God and Jesus. We never stop learning and growing in our faith; we are lifelong learners.
We encourage young families to participate more fully in church life! Babies and toddlers (ages 2-4) and their caregivers are welcome during worship. Older kids are invited to join Sunday School following a children’s message with the children.
The Youth Ministry for Youths from sixth through 12th grades joins with other area churches, including Manchester First Congregational, the Federated Church of East Arlington, Zion Episcopal, Saint James and Saint Peter’s Episcopal, in a regional youth group effort.
The Dorset Church offers several opportunities for educational and spiritual growth for adults. Six to seven times a year on the last Sunday of the month, guest speakers give presentations and lead discussions on a variety of topics during Second Hour.
